REVIEW: BCAA (What is BCAA?, How to works?)

BCAA

Today I am reviewing BCAA (Branch Chain Amino Acid) by MusclePharm. Around 500 companies make BCAA.

OVERVIEW

Two types of amino: Essential & Non-essential.

This BCAA is an essential amino acid. Essential means our body doesn't produce by its own we have to get it through food or supplement.

Non-essential means we don't need it from diet our body produces by its own. We have to get it through food it not then through a supplement.

If you are an active person, athletic then you need more amino then an average person because you are using your muscle on regular basis.

The pretty popular name you have used or want to use it

WHAT IS BCAA? HOW TO WORK?

BCAA is an essential amino acid. It helps to rebuild muscle tissues, It helps to recruit your muscle, It helps to grow your muscle tissue. That's what BCAA all about to prevent muscle break down.

When you train too long in the gym then your body goes into catabolic. Your body goes into catabolic if you have lack of amino. Your body uses protein synthesis means muscle as a fuel. That’s the worst things you took ever do guys, so you don't need to do this.

When you add BCAA before or during workout it helps to prevent muscle breakdown. After weight training when we do exercise and cardio that’s where amino is very helpful.

Understand this thing, your muscle grow in anabolic and your muscles break in catabolic

IT'S IMPORTANT OR NOT?

Yes, it's very important.

CAN WE TAKE IT THROUGH DIET?

Yes... eggs, chicken, fish, beef, turkey has amino acid, all lean protein has amino but some of them has less BCAA. When we talk about BCAA then it is about three amino acid
  1. Leucine
  2. Isoleucine
  3. Valine
After combining these three amino acids, the BCAA formed.

IF YOU ARE VEGETARIAN THEN WHERE YOU GET BCAA?

You can get BCAA from quinoa, lentils, beans, nuts, vegetables but very less so you have to get a lot of calories to get little bit amino, it's not helpful when we add a supplement. If you are eating daily fish, eggs, chicken then you might not need it.

WHEN DO YOU HAVE TO TAKE?

  1. Morning – 5g
  2. Before workout – 5g
  3. After workout – 5g
If you already eating eggs in the morning and taking whey post-workout then you don't need it. So you can't eat anything before workout then adds BCAA.

NOW TALK ABOUT MUSCLEPHARM AND IT'S LABEL.

Musclepharm is a very good and popular brand. I am reviewing pills and people think pills are cheaper. I want to tell you powder is more effective, you can use it morning shake or pre-workout drink.

1 serving – 8 capsule (leucine 3g, Isoleucine 1g, valine 2g)

Means in one serving you will get 6g amino acid. If you take it 3 times a day it means 24 pills a day to get 15g BCAA. Its too many pills, just go for powder it's easy to add 5g powder. It's handy if you take it water only but pills are cheaper because you will get less dose mean it only 10day stock and 300g powder last for 60 days so its better take powder.

COST:

BCAA pills cost around Rs. 2000 and powder around Rs. 1500-2000.

Get any US brand all are good.
